Google map with attractions & shops

I also created a Google Map with all atractions and shops that are listed in this blog.
You can find it by clicking here: map

This is still a work in progress, I will reshuffle the items once I'm done uploading all text, maps and images. I will also make a pdf/word document available later on, so you can pick which items are of interest to you.

Metropolitan Government Building

Metropolitan Government Building
South Observation Deck: 9:30 a.m. - 17:00
North Observation Deck: 9:30 a.m. - 22:30

One of the best free attractions in Tokyo: a view from the 202 meter high Metropolitan Government Building in Shinjuku. On a clear day you can even see Mt. Fuji!
The nearest subway station is Tocho-mae on the Toei Oedo Subway Line, exit A4, but you can also walk there in about 15 minutes from Shinjuku JR Station.

Sanrioworld Ginza

Open from 11:00-20:00

This store in Ginza is the worlds biggest Sanrio Store! It's located on the 1st and 2nd Floor of the Nishi Ginza Department Store, close to JR Yarakucho Station and Tokyo Metro Ginza Station.

Giant Gundam

There's a giant Gundam model (18m) at Diver City Shopping Center in Odaiba. It's easy to get to with the Rinkai Line to Tokyo Teleport Station:

The Gundam is lit up every evening from 18:00-23:00. The robot's head moves at 12:00, 15:00 and 17:00. There's a special 13 minute video presentation at 19:30, 20:30 and 21:30 and another 9 minute presentation at 20:00 and 21:00:

Diver City Mall right behind the gundam has a great Food Court, so it's a nice place to go at the end of the afternoon. Inside the mall is one of the bigger 100 Yen shops in Tokyo: Daiso, on the 6th floor.

Kiddyland Harajuku

Kiddyland Harajuku

Open daily from 11:00-21:00

Kiddyland is another big toy store in Tokyo. It's in Harajuku. They usually have a few Blythe dolls at this store. Harajuku is a great place to visit and do some people watching.

Tea Shops in Tokyo

Lupicia and Karel Capek both have a flagship store in Tokyo.

Karel Capek, Kichijoji (new shop, opened 08/30)

The Lupicia store is close to Jiyugaoka. It's takes around 30 minutes to get to from Shinjuku and is a bit out of the way, but if you're into tea this store is definitely worth a visit!

Hakuhinkan Toy Park & Licca Club 67

Hakuhinkan Toy Park
Open 24/7/365 from 11:00-20:00

Probably the biggest toy store in Tokyo is located in Ginza. It's very close to Shimbashi Station on the Ginza or Yamanote Line:

There's also a Licca Store in the basement of the same building: Licca Chan Club 67, that usually has a few Blythe dolls available:

Yamashiroya Toy Store Ueno

Open from 10:00-21:30

This is one of the bigger toy stores in Tokyo. It has 7 floors filled with all kinds of toys. They used to have Blythe dolls here, but I'm not sure if they still stock them. The store is still worth a visit though! It's located right outside the Central Gate exit of Ueno Station:

Ueno Park is close by and a nice stop if you want to relax a bit. On your way there you will pass by Ameyoko, or Candy Store Alley:

Here's a map of the area, showing Ueno Park, Ameyoko and Yamashiroya:

Mandarake stores in Tokyo (plaatjes toevoegen)

There are 3 Mandarake stores (that sell Blythes) in Tokyo. If you click on the link of a shop below, you will be taken to a page that displays all Blythes that are currently for sale at that particular store.

Open from 12:00-20:00
This store usually has the biggest stock. It's located inside Nakano Broadway, on the 4th floor. It's very easy to get to: just take the subway to Nakano Station and exit through the north exit. The entrance to the covered shopping arcade that leads to Nakano Broadway is right outside the train station:

Nakano Broadway also has a lot of other toy stores that are fun to check out, and the Wanda Wonderfrog Store is a five minute walk away.
Open from 12:00-20:00
The Shibuya store is close to LeLe Junie Moon in Parco. It can be a bit hard to find because the sign outside is very small. It's located in the basement of the BEAM Building:

Mandarake Akihabara
Open from 12:00-20:00

Mandarake in Akihabara is a 10 minute walk from the station. You can combine your visit with the Azone Labelshop that's close by.
